Gladys Joann Parks, 76, of Centerview, Mo., died Saturday, March 1, at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.
Joann was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Cornelia, Mo., the daughter of Roy F. Brenner and Edna Alice (Erhart) Brenner. She was raised in Warrensburg. She was united in marriage to Lucean L. Hunter in Centerview. Later, she married Cleo Parks in Oklahoma. Joann was employed with Price Chopper grocery in Warrensburg during the 1980s. She also operated an in-home day care for several years. She was an avid reader. Joann enjoyed sewing, classical music, traveling, cooking and collecting many types of dishware. She was very active in 4-H at one time.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah DeAnn Peerson and husband, Portlen, of Centerview; and son, Lucien Allen Hunter and wife, Sheranda, of Centerview; two brothers, Roy Bud Brenner and wife, Louise, of Warrensburg; and William R. Brenner and wife, Betty, of Warrensburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
