Gladys Marie Zink

Gladys Marie Zink, 88, of Country Club Care Center and formerly of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Thursday, Oct. 25, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Gladys was born June 6, 1930, south of Knob Noster (back when Dr. Grove did home deliveries), the daughter of James “Jim” Judd and Gladys Marie Rhynerson Judd. She graduated from Knob Noster High School, and on Feb. 14, 1949, she married Theodore Elmer “Ted” Zink. To this union were born three sons. She was a proud full-time homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church of Knob Noster. She enjoyed collecting butterflies, glass shoes, eagles and paperweights. She loved spending time with her family and friends, who knew her affectionately as “Ree.”

Survivors include her son, Gary (wife, Kathleen) Zink; and son, Tony (wife, Nancy) Zink, both of Knob Noster; daughter-in-law, Melanie (husband, Bryan) Zink Schyvinck of Blue Springs; grandchildren, Shanon (husband, Tim) Murphy, and Shawn (wife, Martha) Zink, of Knob Noster; Shane (wife, Mariah) Zink, of Sedalia; Kendra Zink, of Roeland Park, Kansas; Erica Zink, of Blue Springs; Tyler Schyvinck, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Meredith Schyvinck, of Blue Springs; great-grandchildren, Katie (husband, Chris) Stehle, of Knob Noster; Britney Murphy, of Knob Noster; Alex Zink, of Independence; Colby Zink, Tyler Zink and Brady Zink, all of Knob Noster; Finley Zink and Sterling Zink, both of Sedalia; great-great-grandson, Camden Stehle, of Knob Noster; and sister, Roberta Earlene Wonderly, of Centerview.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Zink; son, Roy Dale Zink; parents, Jim and Gladys Judd; two brothers, Forrest Judd and Charles Judd; and four sisters, Edith Williams, Frances Ford, Donnabelle Woods and Oleta Faye Norman.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 30, at First Christian Church of Knob Noster with Pastor Don Hill and Elder Bob Rainey officiating. Burial was in Knob Noster Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tim Murphy, Shawn Zink, Shane Zink, Tyler Schyvinck, Alex Zink and Colby Zink. Honorary pallbearers were Tyler and Brady Zink.

Contributions may be made to First Christian Church of Knob Noster and can be left in care of the funeral home.
