Glen L. Baile

Glen L. Baile, 95, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Friday, Nov. 3, at Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg. Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Church of The Brethren in Warrensburg with Rev. Dr. Becky Baile Crouse, Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Pearl Miller officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Glen was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Warrensburg, son of J. Laurence and Bernice (Greim) Baile. He graduated eighth grade from a one room country school. He spent most of his freshman year at Hollywood High, Hollywood, California. He returned to Warrensburg, and attended College High School, where he graduated in 1941. Following graduation, Glen went to Aircraft Mechanic School. After which, he went to work at Brayton Flying Service in Cuerco, Texas, on the flight line, training cadets.

After 14 months, he volunteered for service in the Army Air Corps. He was assigned to air training command and was stationed in Naples, Italy, for 18 months and Vienna, Austria, for the next six months. While in Vienna, he flew into all of the Balkin countries. Glen spent his last 11 months of military service in the US and was discharged in 1946.

On June 20, 1948, he married Betty J. Stewart in Warrensburg. He was field rep for a rock quarry for 5 years. Glen received his commercial pilot’s license and flew part time for Wagoner Flying Service as a crop duster pilot while working for Johnson County Mutual Insurance Company for 30 years. He was an avid quail hunter and fisher of bass. He loved gardening and took pride in his tomatoes and strawberries. After retiring, Glen and Betty loved traveling to Texas and country dancing.

Survivors include two daughters: Vicki Marsillo and husband, Joe of Cabool, Missouri, and Debra Jones and husband, Jeffrey of Tar Camp Creek, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Georgi Emenhiser and husband, Marc of Indianaoplis, Indiana; Ashley Temme and husband, Richie of Jefferson City, Missouri; Mitra Chester of Eugene, Oregon, and Dannon Canterbury of Portland, Oregon; seven great grandchildren: Makoy Forman-Howard, Drew Emenhiser, Sutton Emenhiser, Brynlee Temme, Brayden Temme, Willow Chester and Kalel Chester. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty in February of 2017 and his brother: Robert Baile.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
