Harvey Dale Peery, 83, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Tuesday, March 17, at his home.

Harvey was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Warrensburg, Missouri, the son of Odest L. and Rhoda M. (Sivils) Peery. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Cowan on Jan. 5, 1952, in Warrensburg. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Following his discharge from active duty, Harvey returned to Warrensburg and did construction work for many years. He retired from Johnson County Water Department No. 1 in 1994. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2513.

Survivors include his wife, Geri; daughter, Loretta Borchers, and husband, Jeffrey, of Warrensburg; son, Dale Peery, of Knob Noster; grandson, Jonathan Borchers, and wife, Kimberly, of Farmington, Missouri; two great-grandsons, Brayden Hartel and Austin Hartel; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Chaplain Bill Douglas of Crossroads Hospice officiating. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2513, and American Legion, Post 131.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
