Soon, making a four-year academic plan will become much easier for students with the new Degree Auditing System (DAS).
With the current DAS, students are able to run an audit of their degree requirements through MyCentral, allowing them to access an audit of the course work they have taken and what coursework remains to be completed.
The new DAS, now graphically enhanced, is easier to navigate through, which will allow students to better interpret their degree audit report (DARS) without feeling as though they are decoding a hidden message.
Students can run an audit for their minor as well.
With the new system, an audit of one’s major and minor can be run separately or together at the discretion of the student.
In consideration of students with undecided majors, their DARS will be comprised of general education requirements, and “other coursework will show as a ‘fall through’ course, as it isn’t being applied to a specific degree requirement,” said Teri Bowman, director of student records/registrar.
It is recommended to use Internet Explorer when running a DARS to avoid compatibility issues that may arise if students were to use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
With the new DAS, students no longer have to worry about finding last minute required classes they have to enroll in.
The improved DAS is designed to ease the class selection process and keep students updated on their progress as it relates to their degree program.
