Ivan “Russ” Harrison, 87, of Knob Noster, Mo., died Monday, April 28, at Country Club Care Center.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Knob Noster Cemetery with Pastor Robert Denham officiating. Pallbearers will be Brandon Harrison, Russell Harrison, Christopher Harrison, Patrick Jennings, Eddy Lord and Bart Willems.
He was born June 10, 1926, in Jackson, Ohio, to William C. and Leota (Shover) Harrison.
He was united in marriage to Peggy J. Gilliland on Dec. 20, 1944, in Beaufort, S.C. She preceded him in death on March 16, 1999. He was united in marriage to Irene Jacques on Oct. 3, 2011, in Warrensburg, Mo.
Russ graduated from Jackson High School in Jackson, Ohio. He then served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1953, and then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1967. After his military career, Russ worked as a loan manager for RG Federal Credit Union in Knob Noster until he retired. He was a 50-year member of the Knob Noster Masonic Lodge No. 245 AF+AM, a member of the 32 Degree Scottish Rite, and he attended the Life Church of the Nazarene. Russ was a loving husband father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Russ is survived by his wife, Irene; two daughters, Linda S. Jennings and husband, Ray; and Kenitra L. Garcia, all of Knob Noster; one son, Robert W. Harrison and wife, Sharon, of Eudora, Kan.; one brother, Kenneth L. Harrison of Hot Springs, Ark.; one sister, Rosalie O’Brien of San Antonio, Texas; one step-son, Eddy Lord and wife, Connie, of North Carolina; one step-daughter, Kathy Ludlam and husband, Len, of Warrensburg; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Jack, Ray, Roy and Donald Harrison.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Kidney Foundation or the Shriners Children’s Hospital and both can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
