Jean F. Lowery, 88, of Warrensburg, died Tuesday, April 9 at Western Missouri Medical Center.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, April 12 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Howard E. and Viola Mae (Taylor) Smith.
Jean graduated from Warrensburg College High School in 1941. She worked at Unifemme and then Unitog as a seamstress retiring in 1989. She loved to sew, read, work crossword puzzles, and her family. Jean attended Harmony Baptist Church in Leeton, Mo..
Jean is survived by four daughters: Donna J. Lowery-Thomas and husband William, of Knob Noster, Mo.; Diana L. Little, of Fairview Heights, Ill.; Debra A. McBee and husband David, and Delora A. Lowery, all of Warrensburg; one son, Larry R. Lowery and wife Pam, of Lilburn, Ga.; two brothers, Gordon Smith, of Warrensburg, and Max Smith and wife Virginia, of Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Doris E. Stone; one brother, Howard E. Smith, Jr.; and two grandsons in infancy, Daryl and Donald McCurry.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and can be left in care of the funeral home.
