Jennies soccer got back to winning with a 4-1 victory Sunday at Northwest Missouri State after having their 32-game winning streak snapped by Missouri Western two days prior.
The Griffons defeated the Jennies 1-0 and became the first team to shut out Central Missouri since Northeastern State in 2015.
The Jennies dropped to eighth in the United Soccer Coaches Poll as a result of the defeat after holding the top spot for the first four weeks of the season.
Sophomore Makayla Toth opened the scoring with her fifth goal of the season, but the Bearcats tied it up before halftime. The Jennies exploded in the second half with sophomore Skylar Drum scoring her first goal of the season and senior Jada Scott adding her sixth and seventh goals of the season on assists from Toth.
The Jennies return to the South Recreational Complex for the first time since Sept. 14 for two home contests when they face Southwest Baptist University Friday followed by Missouri Southern Sunday.
Kickoff between the Jennies and SBU is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at the South Recreational Complex.
