Jon P. Peterson, 77, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Sunday, Feb. 7 at his home.
Cremation has been planned under the direction of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with no services scheduled.
Jon was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Ole and Mary Elizabeth (Erby) Peterson.
On July 19, 1979, he and Dolores Fockler were married in Windsor, Missouri. She survives.
Jon served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Korea. He later joined the National Guard. He worked security guarding missile sites for the Boeing Company. He was later a custodian for the Knob Noster School District for 16 years and worked several other small jobs in the area.
Jon is survived by his wife, Dolores, in John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, Missouri; two stepsons, Noland Schubert and wife, Nancy, and Chester Schubert and wife, Valerie, of Olathe, Kansas; and one stepdaughter, Janice Schubert, of Lutz, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Peterson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Paralyzed Veterans Association and can be left in care of the funeral home.
