Leroy Allen Courtney, 74, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Tuesday, April 28, at his home.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens with Ed Hubbard officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Hastings, Bobby Hastings, Kenneth Foster, Gerald Stockton, C.L. Holdren and Clark Holdren.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
He was born Oct. 5, 1940, in Warrensburg, the son of Fred and Mary (Olsen) Courtney.
He was united in marriage to Linda Davis on Aug. 8, 1975, in Sedalia, Missouri. She preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2003.
Leroy worked as the manager of Spic and Span Laundry and Car Wash in Warrensburg for 20 years, as well as working other various jobs during his career. He was a hard worker who took the time to do things right. Leroy could always be counted on to lend a hand to anyone who needed help and made friends easily. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Leroy is survived by his son, Aaron Rucker and wife, Tori, of Warrensburg; two sisters, Dorothy Poort, of Sedalia; and Jane Julian, of Branson, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dalton, Chelsea, Tara and Christopher, and his beloved dog Molly.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one son, Chris Courtney, one daughter, Dawsey LeAnn Courtney, one brother, Warren Courtney, and one sister, Ruby Meeks.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and can be left in care of the funeral home.
