Linda M. Zumwalt, 69, of Centerview, Missouri, died Friday, May 20, at her home.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Sweeny-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home with Brother Charles Brant officiating.

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on Dec. 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Joe and Iris (Newman) Koggie.

Living most of her life in this area, she worked for Western Electric in Lee’s Summit.

Zumwalt was a 1964 graduate of Ruskin High School. She received her electronic certifications from the Electronics Institute in Kansas City, and attended Central Missouri University. She was active as a ham radio operator. She was a member of the Warrensburg Amateur Radio Club and was a Community Emergency Response Team member. She volunteered her time with local school districts by knitting hats and scarves to be passed out to the children during the winter months. She loved animals and would adopt dogs in need.

She is survived by her son, Ron Zumwalt, and his wife, Lisa, of Fort Worth, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and can be left in care of the funeral home.
