Lois Jean Calfee, 90, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Saturday, April 23, at her home.
Memorial visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.
Lois was born March 16, 1926, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of LeRoy Alfred Hald and Bessie Jean (Freeman) Hald. She met Allan Dale Calfee, who was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska, at the time. The couple was united in marriage on Oct. 25, 1958, in Papillion, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, from 1959 to 1968. They would later reside in Birmingham, Alabama; the Philippines; and Topeka, Kansas. Upon her husband’s retirement, the couple lived in Grandview, Missouri, briefly prior to living in Overland Park, Shawnee Mission, Gardner, Olathe and Edgerton, Kansas. The couple have resided in Warrensburg since 1992. Lois’ hobbies included collecting shoes and reading. She also loved dancing. She was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary for many years, having served as entertainment director for nearly 15 years.
Survivors include her husband, Allan; son, Harvey Allen Kreider and wife, Pam, of Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters, Beverly Jean Swank and companion, Fernyssa, of Stotts City, Missouri; and Cathy Ann Calfee, of Warrensburg; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warrensburg Veterans Home.
