America “Lorene” Carson, 94, of Holden, Missouri, died Saturday, April 2, at Harmony Gardens Assisted Living in Warrensburg.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, at the Holden Cemetery with Bill Douglas, Crossroads Hospice chaplain officiating.
Lorene was born Dec. 14, 1921 in Pittsville, Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Grigsby Renick and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Renick. She was raised in Pittsville. She was united in marriage to Raymond Carson on December 18, 1946, in Desoto, Kansas. Lorene was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Holden Hospital & Clinic and, later, several local care facilities. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Holden. She also loved tending to her flower gardens and bird watching.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Gann and husband, David of Clinton, and Janice Bowles of Kansas City; son, Gary Carson and wife, Cindy of Holden; two sisters, Ann Kroger of Pleasant Hill and Laura Conley of Oak Grove; brother: Robert Renick and wife, Dorothy of Holden; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; son, Raymond L.; daughter-in-law, Lou Carson; three sisters, Katherine Alley, Alberta Gardner and Josephine Rodgers; and three brothers, Kenneth, Richard and Raymond Renick.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice or First Baptist Church in Holden.
