Margaret Opal Cox, 76, of Chilhowee, Missouri, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, at her home.

Margaret was born April 18, 1939, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Benjamin and Myrtle Weaver. She was united in marriage to Donald Franklin Cox on Aug. 11, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas. The couple resided in Holden and Leeton prior to moving to Chilhowee in the mid 1980s. She enjoyed crocheting and working puzzle books.

Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Simmons and husband, Jerry, of Warrensburg, Missouri; six sons, Larry Cox, of Warrensburg; David Cox and wife, Ellie, of Warrensburg; Frank Cox, of Springfield, Missouri; Terry Cox, of Warrensburg; Patrick Cox, of Norphlet, Arkansas; and Paul Cox and companion, Jared Frizzelle, of Chilhowee; sister, Minnie Shuman, and husband, Charles, of Portland, Oregon; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both parents; son, Eddie Cox; daughter-in-law, Linda Mapes; four brothers, Calvin, Raymond, George and Russell Cox; and granddaughter, Jessica Cox.

There will be a memorial visitation from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg.
