Marion Rex Callahan, 87, of Holden, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 25, at Monterey Park Health Care Center, Independence, Mo.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, Mo. Visitation will be Tuesday evening 6– 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in Elm Spring Cemetery, Kingsville, Mo.
He was born March 9, 1926 in Kingsville, Mo., and lived in that community most of his life. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On Sept. 14, 1952, Marion married Goldie Elaine O’Brien in Warrensburg, Mo. She preceded him in death March 25, 1993.
Mr. Callahan was a member of Elm Spring Baptist Church, Kingsville, Mo., and farmed all of his life as well as serving on the board of the Elm Spring Cemetery Association.
He leaves two sons, Dale and Darrell Callahan, both of Holden, Mo.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Neal Callahan, and two sisters, Ruby Fern Callahan, and Letha Belle Withrow.
