Marjory Zollinger Shipley, 101, of Warrensburg died Sept. 15 at Warrensburg Manor in Warrensburg.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Sept. 19 at Otterville IOOF Cemetery with Brother Charles Brant officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service 10-11 a.m. at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home.
Marjory was born April 15, 1917, to Augustas and Bertha (Chedell) Zollinger in Warrensburg.
Marjory was a member of the Cheerful Tillers Garden Club for many years, holding many positions in her tenure. She was part of starting the rose garden on Gay street by the hospital. She was also a member of Club Forty Six Homemakers. She loved her family, and all of her friends of many years. She liked flowers and liked to play the piano. She also liked to cook for everyone, often cooking for the neighbors and made sure there was enough for everyone.
She and Ralph Shipley were married July 20, 1938 and were married for 63 years. They had two sons, Ron and Roger. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Marjory is survived by her two sons, Ron (Brenda) Shipley of Lafayette, Indiana and Roger (Linda) Shipley of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Shelli, Sherri and Kim as well as multiple great grandchildren and two great-great grand daughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; a grandson, Bret Shipley, three brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Show Me Christian Youth Home in LaMonte, Missouri, and can be left in care of the funeral home.
