Marsha Carol Moore, 71, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Tuesday, July 11, at her home.
Funeral services were Friday, July 14, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. Interment followed in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Whitehead, Douglas Turney, Michael Turney, Josh Turney, Robbie Arnold and Tony Reynolds.
She was born March 3, 1946, in Clinton, Missouri, the daughter of Harry B. and Maxine Rukes Turney Jr.
On June 19, 1971, she and Rodger Dale Moore were united in marriage in Warrensburg. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2009.
Marsha and Rodger raised two young men who gave them four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. Family was the most important part of Marsha’s life. Marsha and Rodger managed the American Legion Post 131 for many years before opening their own business, Boots and Saddles (from 1991-1996). She had a passion for gardening and loved to shop. She enjoyed spending her final years with her companion, Butch Elder.
Marsha is survived by two sons, David McCannon and wife, Nicki; and John McCannon and wife, Jamie, all of Warrensburg; a brother, Doug Turney, of Warrensburg; four grandchildren, Dylan McCannon and wife, Jessica; Jake McCannon; Ashley McCannon, and Johnny McCannon, all of Warrensburg; two step-grandchildren, Josie Chugg and Coby Pearson, both of Warrensburg; a step-great-grandchild, Keaton Chugg; and three nephews, Douglas Turney, of Independence, Missouri; Michael Turney and wife, Casey, of Blue Springs, Missouri; and Josh Turney of Warrensburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Rodger, and a stepdaughter, Rhonda Ann Moore.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and can be left in care of the funeral home.
