Maudyln R. “Lynn” Fries

Maudlyn R. “Lynn” Fries, 92, of Harrisonville, Mo., formerly of Warrensburg, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 23,  at Golden Years Nursing Home in Harrisonville, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 28, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Mo., with Pastor Joel R. Kurz officiating and visitation services beginning at 9 a.m.

Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Mo.

She was born Oct. 13, 1922, in Summerville, Mo., the daughter of Charles E. and Pearl (Brawley) Lampkins.

On June 22, 1957, she was united in marriage to Franklin Herman Fries in Quincy, Ill., and shared 53 years of wedded bliss. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2010.

Lynn loved her family and was a dedicated, attentive mother who was always available for help and advice. She was an active person with interest in quilting, gardening, and travel. Lynn served as president of her CB club and was in close contact with a multitude of friends all over the United States. She will be dearly missed.

Lynn is survived by her son, Jerry Ferguson and wife Janet of Lee’s Summit, Mo.; two brothers, Arnold and Donald Lampkins of Sycamore, Ill.; three grandchildren, Jerry Ferguson II, John Ferguson and wife Jessica, all of Kansas City, Mo., and Stacey Hatfield and husband Stuart of Woodbridge, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Sofia, Emily, and George Hatfield, and Lydia Ferguson; and many nieces and nephews who were special in her eyes.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Corvin Brawley, Orville, Delmer, and Dewey Lampkins; one sister, Georgia Holman, and one grandson, Paul Michael Ferguson.
