Mid-Missouri Artists is teaming up with the Warrensburg Parks and Recreation Department to provide art classes in a variety of media.
The winter/spring session offers the following classes:
Jan. 5 – Drawing Workshop: Taught by artist and art educator, Linda Hoover. This one-day workshop, from 9 a.m-3 p.m., will focus on techniques to make drawing more realistic. The fee is $45.
Feb. 7-March 7 – Intermediate Acrylic Painting: Rosemary Ferkovich will teach acrylic painting techniques. This four-session class will meet on Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. The fee is $45.
Feb. 23 – Creative Collage: Award-winning artist Shirley Horacek will direct this one-day workshop, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., will focus on creative collage. The instructor will provide Unryu paper, but participants are encouraged to bring other interesting papers and “found objects” to incorporate into their work. The fee is $45.
March 4-18: Beginning Digital Photography: Professional photographer and artist, Faith Bemiss will cover the basics of using a digital camera as well as photography basics, e-mailing photos, posting photos on social media, and more. Photographers will meet on three Mondays, March 4-18 from 6-8 p.m. The fee is $43.
In addition, WPR has scheduled a Craft Club for students in grades K-5, a Pottery Class taught by Elizabeth Socolofsky-Howe, and a Learn to Quilt class taught by Diane Weigand.
Classes will meet in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Warrensburg Community Center, 345 E. Gay St. Those who are interested can sign up at the Warrensburg Community Center or by calling 660-747-7178.
