Mike McMahan

Mike McMahan, 67, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Sunday, April 5, at his home.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri, with Pastor Jim Richards officiating.  Pallbearers will be Les McMahan, Shawn McBee, Jeff McBee, Bobby Klinck, Jeffrey O’Dell and Tom Brent.

Interment will follow at Knob Noster Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 13, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Clifton Ervin and Nancy Marguerite (Briscoe) McMahan.

On May 30, 1985, he was united in marriage to Melinda D. “Mindy” Phillips in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Mike worked as a Route Salesman for Highland Dairy for several years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.  Mike loved animals, the Kansas City Chiefs and was a past member of the Chiefs Club for many years.  He was a member and steward of Local 41 Teamsters Union.

Mike is survived by his wife Mindy of the home; one brother, Cliff Edward McMahan and wife Fran of Midlothian, Texas; one sister, Barbara Ellen McMahan Malone of Kearney, Missouri; father and mother in-law, Martin and Jeanette Phillips of Warrensburg, Missouri; two brothers-in-law,  Tom and Melissa Morehead of Blue Springs, Missouri; and Michael and Lynette Phillips of Topeka, Kansas; two nieces, Ashley Erickson, husband Nick and children Finn and Rhys of Austin, Texas; and Lindsey Klinck and husband Bobby of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by parents and one brother, Ronald Lester McMahan.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warrensburg Animal Shelter and can be left in care of the funeral home.
