Paul H. “P.O.” Owings, 84, died Oct. 17 at Country Club Care Center.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Oct. 20, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, with Brother Charles Brant officiating.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment followed in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1934, in Hicks City, Missouri, the son of William Halbert and Mackie (Maness) Owings.
On Dec. 2, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mary Sue Lockard at the First Baptist Church in Warrensburg.
P.O. is survived by two daughters, Paula S. Gauchat and husband, Ed, of Warrensburg; and Marla D. Hisgen and husband, Jeff, of La Quinta, California; six grandchildren, Branden D. Gauchat and wife, Lacey; Brittany Gauchat-Jones and husband, Bryan, both of Warrensburg; Ashley D. Fedorchenko and husband, Christopher, of Phenix City, Alabama; Erica Courtney and husband, Matt, of Indio, California; and Alexis and Camden Hisgen of La Quinta; and six great-grandchildren, Logan of Mustang, Oklahoma, Grace, Brody, and Hailey of Warrensburg and Kaylee and Hunter of Phenix City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue, on Dec. 16, 2014; one son, Jeffrey Owings, on Sept. 15, 1965; a brother, Rodger Owings on Aug. 12, 2016; and his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research and can be left in care of the funeral home.
