Rickey Lee Gudde, 61, died Dec. 27, at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Ben Cast & Son-Wood Funeral Home. The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Rick was born May 12, 1954, in Liberty, Missouri, the son of Ernest Lee and Golden (Brundage) Gudde.

He graduated from Holden High School in 1972, and lived in the Holden area most of his life. Rick married Virginia Ann Teckemeyer in Kansas City, Missouri on June 21, 1989. After their wedding, they moved to the family farm. Rick worked as a skilled metal fabricator and brake operator all of his adult life. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Rick is survived by his wife, Gin, of the home; two stepsons, Jerid Bailey and Jason Bailey; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Miller; his mother, Golden Gudde; aunt Loretta (Gudde) Jones; three brothers, Garry Gudde, Daryl Gudde and Dwayne Gudde; one sister, Teresa Harper; seven grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Skyler Miller, Kaitlyn Dikas, David Buxton Jr., Faith Kaneer, William Kaneer and Brandon Bailey; one great-granddaughter, Aralyn Lawrence; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Jennifer Kaneer, and his father, Ernie Gudde.
