Robert James ‘June’ Snow Jr.

Robert James “June” Snow Jr., 90, of Holden, Missouri, died Saturday, Dec. 16, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with the Rev. Tim Whitmore of First Christian Church in Holden officiating.

Interment will follow at the Holden Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Memorial Post 5844, Munday-Hancock Post 90, American Legion and United States Navy Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral Home.

Robert was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Ewing, Missouri, the son of Robert James Snow Sr. and Tressie M. (Lake) Snow. He lived in Palmyra, Missouri, prior to enlisting in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he was united in marriage to Betty Louise Brown on May 15, 1962, in Winchester, Illinois. Robert was a machinist with Gardner Denver Pump Manufacturing in Quincy, Illinois, for many years. In June of 2013, the couple moved to Holden. June loved guns and hunting, especially deer. He was also an avid fisherman. June loved tinkering in his machine shop. He was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Hannibal.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Terry Wayne Snow and wife, Sheila, of Fredericktown, Missouri; two daughters, Tressie Lucille Hufford and husband, Bob, of Monroe City, Missouri; and Beverly Jean Owsley and husband, Gary, of Perry, Missouri; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandsons, Steve Snow and Bobby Hufford; three sisters, Aileen Lomax, Doris Junge and Norma Jean Miller; and two brothers, Harold and Richard.

 

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warrensburg Veterans Home.
