Roy Lee McConville, 85, of Holden, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 23, at his home.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, at Kingsville Baptist Church with Pastor John McRoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Pittsville Cemetery with full military honors provided by Holden Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5844, and Munday-Hancock Post 90, American Legion.
Pallbearers will be Matthew McConville, Scott Sechrest, Jeremy McConville, Dale McConville, Ryan McConville and Andrew McConville.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brent McConville, Brian McConville, Ryan Roberts, Patrick McConville, Kevin McConville and Taylor McConville.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
Roy was born March 31, 1932, in Kingsville, Missouri, the son of Ernest R. McConville and Lucy Pope McConville. He attended King Country School southeast of Holden. He enlisted in the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. Roy was united in marriage to Mary J. Smith on Sept. 19, 1952, in El Paso, Texas. He did odd jobs in the area until the couple moved to Topeka in 1957 where he learned the plumbing trade at College Hill Plumbing.
In 1963, the family returned to Holden and Roy went to work at Tip Top Plumbing in Kansas City. From 1978 to 1983, he owned and operated Big O Plumbing in Holden. He eventually returned to Tip Top Plumbing until retiring. During his retirement years, Roy assisted his brother-in-law, Vernon Sexson, with delivery of the Holden Image throughout the area. More recently, he had Jerry Zvacek helping him deliver the paper. Roy loved fishing, bowling, square dancing and going to NASCAR races. He was a member of Kingsville Baptist Church and Holden VFW Post 5844.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, and six children, Rick and Debra McConville, of Lee’s Summit; Randy and Linda McConville of Kingsville; Rodger and Tammy McConville of Holden; Rhonda and Mike Sechrest of Holden; Ronnie and Nancy McConville of Holden; and Rex and Debbi McConville of McCullom Lake, Illinois; two brothers, Clyde and Norma McConville of Holden; and Bob and Linda McConville of Holden; two sisters, Shirley and George Shull of Kingsville; and Pat and Mike Stewart of Blue Springs; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two stepmothers, Martha and Pauline; brother, Ralph; sister, Mary Dell Brown; and two grandsons, Joseph McConville and Andrew Sechrest.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kingsville Baptist Church Building Fund or Crossroads Hospice.
