Roy Louis “Bud” Brenner, 83, died on Thursday, March 1, at Ridge Crest Nursing Home in Warrensburg, Missouri.No services will be held at this time. Services will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri, on Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. There will be a celebration of Bud’s life following the service, at a location to be decided at a later date, notification of the location of the celebration of Bud’s life will be published at a later date.
Bud was born on Aug. 20, 1934, in Oskaloosa, Kansas, the son of Roy F. Brenner and Edna (Erhart) Brenner.
Bud enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952. In 1956, he was honorably discharged. On June 13, 1958, he married Louise Campbell at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Warrensburg, Missouri.
He worked for the Williams Company as a senior gathering technician in Wyoming for 16 years before retiring and moving back to the Warrensburg area with his family. Bud was a member of the American Legion Post 131. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. Family was of utmost importance to him, and he always had a smile on his face.
Bud is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Louise, of Warrensburg; daughter, Cathy Roberson and husband, Richard of St. George, Utah and their three children: Rick Roberson and wife, Amanda, of Tacoma, Washington, Mindy Kamakahi of Fife, Washington and her two children, Caylea Kamakahi and Marley Wilson, and Stephanie Peña and husband, Jordan, of Orting, Washington and their three children, Jashaun, Brayden, and Mason; daughter, Melissa Brenner-Ross and husband, Chuck Ross, of Bossier City, Louisiana and Saudi Arabia; brother, William R. “Bill” Brenner and wife, Betty, of Warrensburg; nieces and nephews, Marsha Brenner, Dee Peerson, Lucien Hunter, Daryl MacRae, Danny MacRae, and Cheryl Muldoon; and extended family and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edna Brenner; and two sisters, Mehl Adele MacRae and Joann Parks.
Contributions are encouraged to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children and may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home.
