Russell Eugene Hibner, 64, of Holden, Mo., died Monday, March 3, at Truman Medical Center – Lakewood in Kansas City, Mo.
Russell was born May 10, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Carl Ivan Hibner and Lillian Jewell (Brown) Hibner. He was raised in Raymore, having graduated from Raymore-Peculiar High School. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Jean Jeffers on June 21, 1968, in Blue Springs. The couple moved from Raymore to a farm near Holden in 1969. In 2004, they moved to a house in Holden. “Russell spent his life as an innovator and his happiest years were on the farm with his family.”
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; four daughters, Kelly Caldwell and husband, Reid, of Chilhowee, Mo.; Amy Guinn and husband, Shawn, of Holden; Stacey Hedglin and husband, Terry, of Holden; and Mandy Webster and husband, John, of Holden; two sons, Adam Hibner and wife, Jammie, of Holden; and Ben Hibner and wife, Nicole, of Holden; two sisters, Kathleen Tye of Kansas City, Mo.; and Sharon Winkler and husband, Richard, of Raytown, Mo.; sister-in-law, Norma Hibner of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; and 17 grandchildren.
