Russell Wayne Scrutchfield, 66, of Centerview, Missouri, died Saturday, May 7, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

Russell was born Aug. 6, 1949, in Warrensburg, the son of Russell and Mildred (Wheatley) Scrutchfield.

Russell was a graduate of Blue Springs High School. He then served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was a farmer and worked at Honeywell in Kansas City for more than 30 years.

He and Robin Sanders were united in marriage on Jan. 16, 1982, in Odessa, Missouri.

Russell is survived by his wife, Robin, of the home; two daughters, Megan Coffey and husband, Jared; and Hannah Scrutchfield, all of Centerview; his mother, Mildred Scrutchfield, of Blue Springs; and a sister, Sharon Clisso, and husband, Dick, of Blue Springs.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Scrutchfield, on April 17, 2006.

Cremation is planned with no services under the care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association and can be left in care of the funeral home.
