Scott Anthony Shore, 49, of Holden, Missouri, died Oct. 4, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
Funeral Mass was 11:30 a.m. Oct. 9 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holden with Father Peter Savidge officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Devyn Burkeybile, John Talley, Mike Daldrup, Joe Jokubeit, Curt Brockhaus and John Brockhaus.
There was Rosary 6 p.m. Oct. 8, led by the Knights of Columbus, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
Scott was born Jan. 17, 1969 at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. He graduated from Holden High School, Class of 1988. He was a lifelong Holden resident. Scott was employed at AF Grocery for several years. Later, he worked at Fast Stop and continued there when its name was changed to Breaktime. Scott was an avid football and baseball fan. He also enjoyed attending Holden sports events. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was an active member of Knights of Columbus, having volunteered at the Knights of Columbus food stand, at the Holden Fair, for many years. Scott never knew a stranger.
Survivors include his father, Butch (Nancy) Shore of Blue Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Lisa (Greg) Maxon of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Kim (Randy) Burkeybile of Higginsville, Missouri; nephew, Devyn (Allison) Burkeybile of Higginsville and niece, Kristen Burkeybile of Lee’s Summit. He was preceded in death by his mother, Connie; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Thelma Brockhaus and paternal grandparents, Charles B. and Frances Shore.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Patrick’s Building Fund or Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City in care of the funeral home.
