Shirley Ann Maguffee, 71, of Holden, Missouri, died Sunday, April 22, at Holden Manor Care Center. Funeral Services were 2 p.m. Thursday, April 26 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Rev. Steve Winnie of Gunn City Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at the Holden Cemetery.
Shirley was born May 22, 1946 in Holden, daughter of Lawrence Keith Nichols and Laura Catherine (Johnson) Nichols. She graduated from Holden High School. She was united in marriage to Offie “Lee” Maguffee on June 18, 1965 at her parent’s home near Holden.
Shirley worked at Holden Manufacturing for a time. During the late 1980s, she owned and operated Katie’s Cafe. Later, she worked at the Kingsville Sale Barn and also as a waitress at Cowboy Inn. Shirley loved playing pool, having been a longtime member of APA, the American Pool League Association. She also enjoyed cooking and having company.
Survivors include her husband, Lee; two daughters: Leiann (Nick) Zvacek of Pleasant Hill and Debra maguffee of Holden; two sons: Micheal Maguffee of Holden and Lehman Maguffee of Holden; two brothers: Jim Nichols of Holden and Keith Nichols of Blue Springs and four grandchildren: Micheala Maguffee, Maddy Zvacek, Michenzee Maguffee and Blaine Maguffee. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family received friends from 1 p.m. until service time, Thursday at the funeral home.
