Shirley Tran, 14, of Warrensburg, died Sunday, March 13, from an automobile accident in Pittsville.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, March 17, at the funeral homewith Kenny Tran officiating. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Hai Tran, Kenny Tran, Thanh Nguyen, Suyen Le, Dat Le, and Ty Le.
She was born May 16, 2001, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Hoa Van Tran and Long Thi Nguyen.
Shirley was a freshman at Warrensburg High School where she participated in Art Club and Science Olympiad. She was one of the best kids, daughters, friends, and people you could have known. She was always energetic with a great sense of ambition and direction. She lived life to the fullest. She loved to exercise, eat healthy, spend time with family and friends, and best of all, be herself. She never allowed anyone to put her down and was always caring of others. She was a person whom anyone and everyone loved, and she will always be in our hearts and minds.
Shirley is survived by her parents, two sisters, Loan and Duyen Tran, both of Warrensburg; maternal grandmother, Anh Le, of Vietnam; and paternal grandparents, Boi Tran and Hue Nguyen, of Vietnam.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shirley Tran Memorial Fund with checks made payable to Duyen Tran or to the Warrensburg School Foundation and can be left in care of the funeral home.
