City, state, local and university officials, along with downtown merchants and other downtown representatives cut a ribbon Tuesday in the plaza area of West Pine Street to mark the completion of the streetscape work.

And the dance floor was popular with the younger crowd.

The Heroes table full of hot dogs and hamburgers was popular with lines stretching across the street.

The beanbag toss was a hit in front of The Art Store.

UCM President Charles Ambrose, far right, mingles with the crowd.

Cotton candy was available for people of all ages.

UCM President Ambrose placed the first engraved brick during a ceremony where city and university officials, along with downtown merchants and representatives from the construction companies, placed bricks in this section of sidewalk.

Warrensburg Mayor Don Butterfield places his brick next to the one set by Ambrose.
