(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) — The Kansas City Royals World Series Trophy Tour, presented by the Missouri and Kansas lotteries, will visit communities throughout the Midwest, stopping first at the University of Central Missouri.
Royals fans can stop by to see the trophy and snap a selfie with it from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, in the Multipurpose Building.
“As a Royals fan and a UCM student as well, I am so excited for the opportunity to see a trophy that I have only seen on TV,” said freshman Sophie Widel. “I feel like I get to be a part of history.”
Sophomore Jake Siddens is a Cardinals fan, but he’s still interested.
“It’s pretty cool that UCM is the first stop for the World Series Trophy,” said Siddens. “I will definitely check it out.”
Fans will also have the chance to have a professional photo taken and can purchase those photos during the visit or at royals. com. A portion of all professional photos taken will go toward benefitting Royals charities. Royals staff will be on site to take a photo with fans on their devices, allowing only one photo per group.
Sluggerr and KayCee, the Royals Hall of Fame baseball characters, will accompany the trophy at select stops.
“We are so excited that the World Champion Kansas City Royals are bringing their World Series Trophy to Warrensburg and the University of Central Missouri,” said Chuck Ambrose, president of UCM. “Being the home of Mules and Jennies championships, the community will have a chance to celebrate the Royals and their great run to the crown.”
Fans attending the Trophy Tour stop in Warrensburg are asked to enter the Multipurpose Building through the east entrance. For more information on the World Series Trophy Tour, visit Royals.com/TrophyTour.
