A UCM student died Sunday in his campus residence.

Andrew Pierson, Fredericktown, Missouri, was a senior music major with a concentration in music technology and minor in management.

“Mr. Pierson’s death was attributed to natural causes; in no way is it the result of self-harm or foul play,” said Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren.

Capt. Bill Brinkley, assistant director of Public Safety, said Pierson’s death was related to a medical condition.

Holdren said the determination of the specific cause of death is pending final autopsy results.
