(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — Jennies soccer senior midfielder Becky Lackey and senior defender Kristin Bright were named to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District first team on Thursday.

Lackey is a nursing major with a 3.65 grade-point-average, while Bright is a biology education major with a 3.74 grade-point-average.

Lackey leads the Jennies with 19 points (seven goals, five assists). This marks the first CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District honor of her career.

Bright has been an integral part of a Jennies defense that has posted eight shutouts and has limited its opponents to 12 goals in 16 games.

This is the third consecutive CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District accolade and the second time she’s earned first-team honors.

Both players are now eligible for Academic All-America honors.
