Viola Mildred Lively, 88, of Warrensburg, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at her home.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. Memorial services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel with Pastor Marvin Miller officiating.  There will be a private interment in the Holden Cemetery at a later date.

Viola was born April 10, 1927, in the Magnolia community, the daughter of Earl Robert Linfield Taylor and Beulah Jane (Freeman) Taylor. She was raised in Holden.

She was united in marriage to Wilbur Andrew Lively Sr. in 1945 in Centerview, Missouri. Shortly after, the couple moved to Baltimore due to Wilbur’s military career. She eventually returned to Holden to care for her ailing mother. In the mid-1970s, Viola moved to Warrensburg. She was employed at University of Central Missouri, in the cafeteria department, for several years.

Survivors include her very dear friend and caregiver of ten years, Thelma Gant of Warrensburg, Missouri; four grandchildren, Wilbur Lively III, of Springfield, Missouri, Rochelle Lively of Waverly, Missouri; Dominique Coward of Lexington, Missouri, and April Frazier of Holden, Missouri; five great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and her sister, Diane Lee of Lexington, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur; two sons, Wilbur Lively Jr. and William Robert Taylor, and her brother, Forrest Taylor.
