Warrensburg Chamber president to resign

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The president of the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce announced Tuesday that she will resign Aug. 15.

Tammy Long has served as Chamber president for 18 years. Dan Houx, chair of the Chamber board of directors, said the organization will begin a search process immediately, according to a news release. The reason for her departure was not immediately available.

“Tammy is the only Warrensburg Chamber president that many people have ever known,” Houx said. “This is a bittersweet moment. We must all come to grips with the idea that a new person will fill Tammy’s office while we celebrate her dedication and excellent management.”

Long said she is glad to have worked to help improve the community.

“I am indebted to the many outstanding leaders that served the Chamber through the years,” she said. “In addition, a great staff that is dedicated, energetic, and talented has made my service to the Chamber a pleasure. Working together, Chamber volunteers, Chamber staff and our many public and private sector partners have helped make Warrensburg an outstanding community and one that welcomes our military friends and neighbors, embraces our students, faculty and staff from UCM and supports our local business community.”
