Patrick Michael Bonner, 73 of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Warrensburg, died Tuesday, June 3, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 7, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Pastor Sid Tiller of Northside Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Warrensburg Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pat was born Sept. 9, 1940, in Syracuse, New York, the son of Lloyd and Ruth (Beckwith) Grinnals. In his earlier years, he played football with the Los Angeles Rams. He married Esther Weaver in Syracuse in 1962. He was united in marriage to Mary Jo McMillen on May 16, 1975, in Stilwell, Oklahoma. The couple eventually moved to Warrensburg. Pat was employed as a mail router and packer with Unitog from January 1978 to November 1999. He was a foster grandparent with Warrensburg elementary schools for several years, which brought him great joy. He moved to St. Louis recently to be closer to family.
Survivors include seven children, Richard Grinnals and wife, Malissa, of Calimesa, California; Rusty Grinnals and wife, Alicia, of Klamath Falls, Oregon; Michelle Kehoe and husband, Chris, of Klamath Falls; Malynda Grinnals and significant other, Brian Clemens, of Klamath Falls; Joey Henderson and husband, Brian, of Collinsville, Illinois; Karen Ketchum and husband, Matt, of Lusby, Maryland; and Shannon Heisler and husband, Joel, of Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico; brother, James Grinnals and wife, Kathryn, of Grand Island, New York; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo, both parents and daughter, Laura Wingate.
