(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The No. 11 ranked Jennies soccer team (7-2-2, 4-1-1 MIAA) dropped a 2-1 decision against visiting Missouri Southern at the South Recreation Complex on Thursday night, according to a press release.
Missouri Southern’s Karley Thomas put the Lions in front, 1-0 in the 14th minute on a shot from a redirect pass from the right side of the field.
Thomas collected her second goal of the evening in the 52nd minute on a cross from the right side from Carly Cecil.
The Jennies cut the deficit in half in the 61st minute when Carly Stanley scored a shot off a rebound for her third goal of the season. The Jennies were unable to tie the score in the final 29 minutes.
UCM goalkeeper Jessica Grindstaff took the loss, placing her record at 1-1-0.
The Jennies will host Rockhurst University next Tuesday, October 15 at 7 p.m.
