(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) — The MIAA regular season champion Jennies basketball team claimed the No. 3 seed in the NCAA-II Central Regional.
The Jennies will battle No. 6 seed Northern State on Friday in Searcy, Ark., on the campus of Harding University.
The Jennies lost to Emporia State 75-71 in the MIAA Tournament championship game on Sunday afternoon despite a late comeback attempt.
UCM (25-4, 17-2 MIAA) trailed by 14 points with 14 minutes to play in the second half and tied the game with 1:19 left, but the Lady Hornets pulled away in the final minute, scoring four straight points to take their second-consecutive MIAA Tournament title.
The Northern State Wolves are 24-6 and finished 17-5 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
This will be the first matchup between the two schools. This is the third-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for the Jennies and sixth under head coach Dave Slifer
