Mules golf punches ticket to NCAA championships

(LEMONT, Ill.) — Central Missouri men’s golf place second at the NCAA Super Regional Tournament, securing a bid to the Division II National Meet May 18-22 at the Rock Barn Golf Course and Spa in Conover, N.C.

UCM shot a final round 309, 21 strokes over par. They finished the regional at 895, +31, and 10-strokes behind regional champions, Central Oklahoma.

Travis Mays was the Mules’ top finisher. He placed in the top 10, tying for seventh overall with a 220, four over par, over the three days. Mays’ best round was the first, when he shot a 67 (-5). He shot a 78, six over par today.

Alex Springer just missed out on the top 10, tying for 11th overall shooting a 222, six over par. Springer tied for the team low with a 75 in the third round.

Cy Moritz tied for 21st place, shooting a 224, eight over par. Moritz and Springer both shot a 75, plus three on the day.

Sam Migdal finished in a tie for 47th place. He shot a 230, plus 14.

Rounding out the Mules was Teddy Jones. He finished tied for 68th at 235, 19 over par.
