Businesses throughout Warrensburg plan to observe Shop Small Saturday, a nationwide initiative created by American Express in 2010, according to a news release.

The event takes place Saturday, Nov. 25.

At each participating downtown business there will be a Shop Small Saturday passport. Shoppers can pick up a passport and have it stamped at each of the 18 downtown locations. When the passport is completely stamped, the shopper can submit the passport for a chance to win a trip for two on the AMTRAK Missouri River Runner to Washington, Missouri.

Along with the train tickets you will win an overnight stay in the Gottfried’s Cabin Gast Haus.
