(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Central Missouri junior Travis Higgs was named MIAA Pitcher of the Week for his performance in UCM’s 9-1 win over Missouri Southern last Saturday. This is the second player of the week award for Higgs.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native tossed a complete game two-hitter in the UCM victory. He had a no-hitter going through 6.1 innings before giving up a bloop single to right. He gave up just two singles all game and a single run while striking out five. The Lions batted just .091 against him on the day.

Higgs is now 5-0 with a 3.35 ERA in eight starts. He has 43 strikeouts in 45.2 innings pitched.
