(TOWSON, Md.) — University of Central Missouri Jennies softball junior outfielder Medora West was named to the Academic All-America first team Wednesday morning.
West graduated this spring with a bachelor’s degree in safety management with a 4.0 GPA.
West, a native of St. Louis, Mo., helped the Jennies to a 24-22 overall record in 2013. She was the second leading hitter on the team with a .350 batting average, compiling 56 hits in 160 at bats. She also had nine doubles, a triple and a home run to go along with 19 RBI. She was 17-19 in stolen base attempts.
She is the 13th Academic All-American in program history and the first since 2004.
