Alice Lane

Alice Lane, 83, died on Friday, Nov.10, in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov.14, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson County Community Health Services
and can be left in care of the funeral home.

She was born on March 9, 1934, on a farm near Blackburn, Missouri. She was the daughter of Hulda Pragman Hemme and Edwin Hemme. She had five brothers and three sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lane; her parents; four brothers and three sisters.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Loretta Bauer, from a previous marriage; three grandchildren, Matt (Morgan) Bauer, of Sweet Springs; Jacob Bauer, of Kansas City, Missouri; and Amanda (Billy) Vanderpool, of Knob Noster, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Vanderpool, Mayleyah Bauer, and Briar Bauer; and one brother, Robert Hemme, of Marshall, Missouri.

Alice worked at Unitog for 39 years and when Unitog closed, she went to work for Johnson County Community Health Services for 15 years. Alice enjoyed her gardening, quilting, canning, sewing and working outside. Her favorite things to cook were homemade bread and pies. She loved people and prayed for her family, friends, and strangers. She loved reading the Bible, especially the book of Psalms. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She cherished the times of taking her grandchildren out to eat and having them spend the night.
