(WARRENSBURG, Mo., digitalBURG) – Smashing their way inside, someone broke into the Conoco gas station at the southwest corner of Maguire and Gay streets early Tuesday morning.
Warrensburg Police Lt. Tim Lowry said video surveillance showed an individual used a brick around 3:45 a.m. to shatter the station’s front door glass. He said the individual came from the north and left heading south.
Lowry said the store’s surveillance footage was unable to get a clear image of the individual. He said it appeared to be a white male wearing black clothing and black gloves.
Baldev Patel, Conoco store owner, said the individual took the entire register, a few cartons of cigarettes and other small items. He said there was $1,300 to $1,500 in the register.
Patel said there usually isn’t that much money in the register, but employees had forgotten to make a bank deposit the past two days.
Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the Warrensburg Police Department at 660-747-9133.
