Brennen Hughes selected to Reese’s Division II College All-Star Game

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) — Central Missouri senior forward Brennen Hughes has been selected to play in the 2015 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Reese’s Division II College All-Star Game, which will be played as part of the 2015 NCAA Division II Men’s Elite Eight in Evansville, Indiana. The game will be played on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. CDT at the Ford Center in Evansville.

Hughes was selected as one of 10 players to the East squad that will be coached by Matt Margenthaler of Minnesota State-Mankato. The teams are composed of two senior student-athletes from each of the eight regions in Division II and four at-large selections. All players that have been selected have earned NABC All-District honors.

Hughes was a Second Team All-District selection by the NABC and a First Team All-MIAA selection after scoring 9.7 points and pulling down 5.6 rebounds per game. He led the MIAA in field goal percentage (65.5) and scored in double figures 16 times with one double-double on the year. His 34 blocked shots this season are tied for the eighth most in a single-season in UCM history and his 50 career blocks are tied for the sixth most in program history.

The Moberly, Missouri native helped lead the Mules to a 25-7 overall record and their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
