Catherine Marie Potter, 80, of Warrensburg, died Sunday, May 8, at her daughter’s home.

A funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Warrensburg, followed immediately by a lunch for family and friends. Cremation will follow the service.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Cathy was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Spidle) Groff.

Cathy retired from Homer Laughlin China Company in Newell, West Virginia, famous for its line of Fiesta Ware. She moved to Panama City, Florida, to be closer to family and continued to work, being employed by the Panama City Mall. Upon moving to Warrensburg, Cathy became a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She enjoyed fellowshipping and exercising with the ladies there. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles and was an avid fan of Jeopardy.

Cathy is survived by her daughter, Karen Sligh and husband, Terry, of Warrensburg; son, Steve Musser and wife, Teresa, of Panama City; sisters, Alice Fraser, of New Port Richey, Florida, Dorothy McCue, of Philadelphia, Doris Rickett and Mary Groff, both of Lancaster; and grandchildren, Amber Musser, Shawn Musser and Nicholas Musser, all of Panama City.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home.
