Crest Ridge falls to Sweet Springs in close match

Crest Ridge High School varsity volleyball took the first set in a closely-fought match, but ultimately dropped the last two to Sweet Springs for a 25-18, 25-20, 26-24 loss.

Lily Hunter led the Cougars with 11 kills while Whitney Hutcherson had 5 kills and 2 aces. Heather Delana contributed 16 assists.

“We played a good first set, but our passing hurt us in the second set,” head coach Jennifer English said. “The girls rallied back in the third, but we gave away critical points with costly net violations.”

In another close match, JV Crest View managed to take the win over Sweet Springs in two sets, 25-20, 25-19.

The Cougars play again Thursday, Oct. 3, at KC Lutheran at 5:30 p.m.
