Eleanor Alderson

Eleanor Alderson, 81, of Knob Noster, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 1, at the Warrensburg Manor Care Center in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, with Reverend Jack Menges officiating. Visitation services will begin at noon. Pallbearers will be Kevin Alderson, David Alderson, Alex Alderson, Leigh Clayton, Ron Tracy, Isaac Hayslip, Keith Alderson and Caleb Egbert.

Interment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.

She was born May 27, 1933, in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Denny) Delbridge.

On Nov. 6, 1949, she was united in marriage to Francis A. Alderson in Decatur, Illinois..

Eleanor worked in the housing office at Whiteman Air Force Base for several years until her retirement. She loved crafting, sewing, cake decorating, gardening and spending with her family, as well as her long haired dachshunds. She was a member of the Christian Center Faith Church in Sedalia, Missouri, and a member of the Knob Noster Lion’s Club.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Francis, one daughter, Jamie White and son in-law, Leigh Clayton of Knob Noster, Missouri; one son, Kevin Alderson and wife Ronda of Warrensburg, Missouri; one brother, David Delbridge of Mt. Zion, Illinois; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Warren Brooks, Morris and Jim Delbridge.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and can be left in care of the funeral home.
