College of Education Research Symposium

The Department of Academic Enrichment will host the first College of Education Research Symposium Monday, Sept. 18, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in JCKL 2441.
Scheduled presentations include: Charlene Atkins, mathematics coordinator and academic enrichment; Chris Beggs, director of TRIO student support services, for “Investigating Academic Effectiveness and Efficiency: Modifying Developmental Mathematics Pathways Using the Co-requisite Model;” Kimberly King, McNair scholar, summer research intern, for “Sitcom Viewing and Rape Myth Acceptance among College Students,” Joyce Chance, McNair research mentor; Michaela F. Martinez, McNair scholar, summer research intern, for “Congenital Heart Disease and Exercise related Knowledge among patients and the Patient’s Sphere of Influence,” Matthew J. Garver, McNair research mentor; and Chris Stockdale, chair, Academic enrichment for “Illiterate Soldiers and the Origins of Remedial Reading: The Forgotten Influence of Silent Reading Textbooks on American Schools.”
